The tea from the Uva and Dimbula

The tea from the UVA and Dimbula tea regions in Sri Lanka is renowned for its exceptional quality and unique flavor profiles. These regions are known for producing some of the finest teas in the world, thanks to their high-altitude tea gardens and favorable climatic conditions.

UVA Tea: UVA tea is grown in the Uva Province, located in the eastern part of Sri Lanka. The tea gardens in this region are situated at elevations ranging from 1,000 to 1,600 meters above sea level. The cool temperatures, misty hills, and abundant rainfall create the perfect environment for growing tea with a distinctively bright and fragrant flavor. UVA tea is known for its mellow and fruity notes, often accompanied by a delicate sweetness.

Dimbula Tea: Dimbula tea comes from the Dimbula District, located in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. The tea gardens in this region are situated at elevations ranging from 1,200 to 1,800 meters above sea level. The cool temperatures, ample rainfall, and well-drained soil contribute to the unique flavor characteristics of Dimbula tea. It is known for its medium to full-bodied profile with a bright, coppery infusion and a rich, brisk flavor. Dimbula tea often exhibits a well-balanced combination of floral, citrus, and caramel notes.

Teas from the UVA and Dimbula regions are highly sought after for their exceptional quality and are often considered among the best sustainable teas in Sri Lanka. The tea gardens in these regions follow sustainable practices, ensuring the protection of the environment and the well-being of the local communities.
